We have been working on a new idea for picking up the relic. It is called the Tape Measure Design. Here is the SOLIDWORKS design. Here is the drawing.
We went to the Polytech Building at the SEMO Campus. We drove our robot around and stuck some glyphs into the glyph boxes. We realized that we could not get onto the balancing board, but Dalton thinks he has a way to fix that.
That pile of parts look familiar? It's the clear sign of a redesign! We got all the programming up and running last meeting, a side-effect of which was that we figured out our design had some flaws. Namely, we overestimated the power of servos, and it was too slow. Those flaws were inherent to the design, not something easily fixable, so we decided to make a switch. Our bot 2.0 should be taking shape by the end of the week. Last meeting we went and helped out at our local food pantry. The St. Mary's Food Pantry. Working hard.
